About Brading Horticultural Society
Join a Friendly Society for Garden Lovers
Brading Horticultural Society has been part of local life in Brading for generations, bringing people together to share a love of gardening, growing, and community. Our annual show has run for more than eighty years, celebrating the best of local produce, flowers, crafts and home‑made goods. Every September, gardeners, growers and makers prepare keenly for the event, tending their plants, perfecting their produce and competing with friendly enthusiasm. The show has become a fixture in the local calendar, drawing entries from across the town and visitors who enjoy seeing the results of months of care and effort. Today, we continue that tradition with a friendly, welcoming society open to everyone — whether you’re an experienced gardener or just starting out.
We meet through the year to support each other, swap ideas, and enjoy the simple pleasure of growing things well. Our members include long‑standing residents and newcomers alike, and we’re always pleased to see fresh faces. If you enjoy gardening, want to learn more, or simply like being part of a local community group, you’ll find a warm welcome here.
The Society is open to all living in the parish of Brading, which also includes Morton, Nunwell, Adgestone and Yaverland. Our society is run by volunteers and rooted in Brading’s heritage, but we’re forward-looking too — encouraging new members of all ages to get involved and help keep this valued tradition thriving.
